An Italian company that since 1984 has been the international reference point for the selection, processing, packaging and distribution of cereals, pulses and seeds.
Requirement
Pedon’s ethical project was launched in conjunction, and in perfect coherence, with the theme of the 2015 Milan Universal Exposition – ‘Feeding the Planet – Energy for Life’. A project that reuses vegetable waste, produces in an environmentally friendly way and allocates resources to support ethical and social projects.
Results
Bean Crush: the first food packaging made from bean processing waste. The result is an FSC-certified and GMO-free carton that can be in direct contact with the product, thus eliminating the inner packet, and which contains 30% post-consumer recycled fibre. The environmentally friendly inks and the transparent PLA window also obtained from vegetable waste make the packaging eco-friendly and 100% recyclable.
